Falling Off the Wagon

This post is somewhat boring, but it is something I feel I need to pass on to you all like a good recipe!

One of my New Year’s Resolutions this year was to get more organized. I am a fairly organized person- but there is always room for improvement right? In an attempt to better my organization skills, on January 2nd, 2011 (let’s be honest here, everyone’s resolutions begin on the 2nd because we are all too hung over on the 1st) I began a program online to aid my efforts. I must tell you, that it worked 110%. In the beginning of the year I was making To-Do lists and carrying through with them, and honestly making great progress in many of areas of my life. Without this program I don’t think I would have known where to start. It can be somewhat time consuming, and you must make a promise to yourself that you will give it a full 30 days worth of effort. But the payoff is AMAZING! I promise you! It takes 28 days to create a habit- and a habit is definitely what I created!! I was more organized and honestly fulfilling many of the things I had hoped to accomplish within the year.  This program kept my eye on the prize and to make matters even better it was FREE!!!

Ok- so now on to the point of this story- because I know at this point it appears as though I am a paid infomercial host trying to sell you nonsense….

This summer, I feel like I have become a little more lackadaisical about things, as we all do in the summer- we deserve to don’t we? But I feel as though I have sort of lost sight of many of my goals because I haven’t been staying on track. I FELL OFF THE WAGON! The organization wagon that is. In attempt to get back on track I resigned up for the program and am on my way to focusing my efforts in the right direction. You guys, I am not being paid to tell you this (I PROMISE) but I thought I would share this with you because it has helped me. Check out: 30 Day ChallengeThis woman is completely inspiring and motivating! You will LOVE HER! You owe it to yourself to give yourself the tools and motivation to accomplish every SINGLE thing you want in your life. Good luck J

Chicken Fried Steak and Simpler Days

So- I thought I would take a stab at this whole blog thing. I really like the idea of sharing all your thoughts, experiences (good and bad), and adventures with the blogging community. I have learned a great deal from reading other's blogs; whether it be a delicious recipe to try, or a new book to add to the list- I am all for it! By reading other blogs you allow yourself to see life through their perspective, and then perhaps are more apt to try something new. I am all for new adventures and trying new things.

As far as the title of my blog- anyone that knows me knows how passionate I am about the South. Southern sweet tea, chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy...large oak trees that have stood for hundreds of years, plantation mansions, the Southern twang, COWBOYS, Church on Sundays, Football....just everything!!! If I could live there, I would. However, my life is here in good ol' Massachusetts, but I can't say that I don't pray that my life one day takes me South.

One of my best friends is from Texas and I wish distance didn't separate us as much as it does. But she is lucky to be a Southern Lady, and I am just as lucky to have her as one of my best friends. The first time I ever tried Chicken Fried Steak was when I was with her (completely random!) Those memories are like no other. I wish we could go back in time to those simpler days. Eating Chicken Fried Steak, sipping on our Peach Snapples and discussing all things inappropriate. So Morgan- if you are reading this, I love you! Can't wait to see you soon!

So back to the point of my blog. I like to write. So blogging seems like a natural step to take. I will be blogging about all the things I enjoy in my not so southern life. I love to read, cook, and entertain- so most of my entries will be regarding these subjects. I am also planning my wedding- which weighs heavily on my mind- so I may write about that. All in all this is such a great outlet and I hope whoever reads this enjoys it. I would also appreciate feedback :)
